Location: Marbella, Spain
Happy Friday all! The sun continues to shine in London and I’m still in holiday mode after my Spanish trip to Marbella a couple of weekends ago. Summer is far from over, and with me still feeling those fresh summery vibes I wanted to continue on a post I wrote a few weeks ago. I previously wrote about my top three beachwear essentials and thought I would broaden on this to talk about four poolside accessories that come with me on each of my summery holidays.
You can’t visit the beach or lounge poolside without a towel. It’s a pretty obvious one and a crucial part of a every summer holiday, yet so underinvested in by most. Bored of the usual beach towels that you find everywhere, I wanted something different. I came across H For Hamman towel via Instagram and loved the way these pretty towels looked, from the intricate print to the beautiful bright colours. I contacted them and they kindly sent me a striking turquoise shade, which I thought made the perfect addition to my poolside accessories list. The towels are super absorbent and quick drying, made from 100% hand loomed Turkish cotton. It was so pretty I didn’t even want to use it at first! That was until I saw that the more you wash it, the softer it becomes. Check out their site to get yours!
The Beach Bag
If you are at all present on social media, then you would have seen the sudden invasion of Cult Gaia bags worn by celebs and influencers all over. I kept seeing their half-moon Ark bag everywhere, and so I trawled through their site to find the one that suited my needs. I wanted one that was significantly larger than the Ark, but retained that unusual and show stopping bamboo look. That was when I came across this – Cult Gaia’s mega beach portfolio bag. It’s roomy enough to fit all of my poolside accessories, yet folds completely flat for easy packing in your suitcase. I love the shadows it creates when the sun shines through it!
When the sun is at its brightest, and if your hair is as bleached as mine, you’re going to want to keep it covered whilst walking or laying in the sun. Again, everyone has seen those elegant wide-brimmed hats with holiday mode messages either painted or embroidered onto them. I had a look online and came across the elegant Eugenia Kim sun hats which, whilst stunning, cost a very pretty penny. For me, it just didn’t make sense to invest in something that I was only going to wear for three days, so I set out looking for a similar piece at a more affordable price. Hello Etsy! I found an online store that sold similar pieces, and I customised mine to have the message written in gold glitter to match my jumpsuit. You’ll also be supporting smaller craft businesses which I think is fantastic! I’ve linked that same online store that I bought mine from here.
Last but not least, I was on a weekend trip with six other friends and so wanted to bring along poolside accessories that we could have some fun with. How amazing is this giant flamingo? It was perfect for lounging in the pool and can take up to 100kgs in weight. Our new friend also made for some poolside jokes and overall was just a fun thing to have. After doing some more research, it seems that these cute inflatables have become a thing! Check out this super original inflatable from Funboy. They have also collaborated with Missoni to create some amazing reversible butterfly-shaped floaties with Missoni prints! Check them out here!
